New Casarão do Castelo

With the ocean so close by, our list wouldn’t be complete without a seafood restaurant, or two.

The New Casarão do Castelo, located less than 80 metres from Casarão do Castelo, the first and original that opened more than 30 years ago, specialises in fresh shellfish and grilled fish. Lobster, tiger prawns, Bulhão Pato-style clams, stuffed crab, shellfish rice or açorda (bread pudding), are just some of the options that are always available.

This new space, inaugurated in 2019, also nods to cuisine from other latitudes, adding risottos and sushi to the menu, the latter in classic or fusion versions.
