Now that its doors have reopened to the community, visiting the Leixões Cruise Terminal is always fun, as this space frequently features shows and exhibitions. And going from here to Casa de Arquitetura takes only an instant: just 850 metres separate the two spaces.

Casa da Arquitetura (House of Architecture), in Matosinhos, operated for ten years until 2017, in a building owned by the Siza Vieira family, natives of the town. After this, it housed the Real Companhia Velha port wine company, and today it is an exceptional place dedicated to the preservation and dissemination of donated architectural collections, instruments and treasures.

If you love art and architecture, you can’t miss it! Just 10 minutes away lies the beautiful Serralves Foundation.

And you already know there’s a great deal to enjoy here. Start with the Museum of Contemporary Art with its temporary exhibitions; visit the Serralves Villa, a unique example of Art Deco architecture; and finish with a walk in the Park — either through the grounds or in the treetops, if you choose the Treetop Walk.
