Seaside

In 2019, the seafront promenade designed by Siza Vieira received a sculpture by the visual artist and painter Pedro Cabrita Reis, one of the principal ambassadors of the neo-minimalist movement in Portugal.

Entitled A Linha do Mar (The Sea Line), it is comprised of five groups of iron beams painted white.

The piece extends across 40 metres and features vertical beams of various sizes mounted on horizontal beams, presented as a “new perspective on the maritime horizon”.
